West Mifflin senior Sam Sherlock won a PIAA wrestling championship last season, paving the way for the ultimate reward — a college scholarship offer.
Sherlock, who will move from the 126-pound weight class to 130 and 135 this season, made a verbal commitment Friday to Penn State, where coaches have told him he might fit into their plans next year during his freshman season.
“Penn State had everything he was looking for,” West Mifflin coach Tony Salopek said.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t you run this news from a Post-Gazette article in late July?
Yes the Post-Gazette did run a similar story. I didn’t post this one because it was new news, I posted it so the site would have a more complete record of articles that were written about the guys on the team. However, it would make sense to note that when I do it in the future.
