Nico Megaludis was expecting his wrestling skills to be tested during the Powerade Christmas Tournament, but the Franklin Regional junior saw his patience tried, too.
He overcame the first challenge with no problem; the second was a struggle.
Megaludis (14-0) needed an ultimate tiebreaker to claim the 119-pound championship — his third consecutive Powerade title — and keep him on track to join a select group at one of the nation's most competitive high school wrestling tournaments.
