Dylan Alton also takes title

HOLLAND — The Escape the Rock Wrestling Tournament featured more than 550 bouts, but fans were hoping to see one particular matchup.
Various national rankings have Council Rock South’s Josh Dziewa as the No. 1 135-pounder in the country. Those same rankings place Central Mountain’s Andrew Alton first at 145.
Dziewa, an Iowa recruit who battled some injuries early in the season, is not yet certified at 135. Looking ahead to the Escape the Rock, he yielded to 140-pound teammate Matt Martoccio and entered the 145-pound bracket.
As expected, the two stars advanced to the final and, in a random draw, the 145-pound final was the final bout of the night.
The bout belonged to the Penn State-bound Alton. He took down Dziewa five times to cruise to a 10-6 victory and the Outstanding Wrestler award.
