IOWA CITY, Iowa — A huge gap exists between Penn State and the nation’s best team for the second straight year.
Iowa compiled 25 takedowns and won eight bouts to pound the Nittany Lions 29-6 before 8,923 fans Friday at Carver- Hawkeye Arena. Iowa, which has won 56 straight dual meets, also throttled Penn State 31-6 last year at Rec Hall.
This year’s loss marked the worst defeat of Cael Sanderson’s coaching career. Sanderson’s first Iowa State team fell to Iowa 24-6 in 2006.
