As the No. 11 Penn State wrestling team’s dual meet season winds to a close, two things are becoming abundantly clear: the Nittany Lions are clearly better than a lot of people expected and they are in far better shape than almost all of their opponents.
Those two things were evident Sunday as the Nittany Lions (12-5-1, 4-2 Big Ten) mauled Michigan (4-12, 0-5), 29-10, in front of 4,511 Rec Hall fans.
Penn State won seven of 10 bouts and piled up a 29-17 advantage in takedowns.
