Pennsylvania Seniors Making Their Mark on History

The PIAA State Wrestling Championships will be staged this weekend in Hershey. Always a triumphant affair, this year will be increasingly special, as it will serve as a swansong for perhaps the greatest senior class, from any one particular state, in the history of high school wrestling.
Pennsylvania has long been known as a hotbed of wrestling; since about, well, forever.
It’s the reason there’s the Dapper Dan Classic, which pits a national team of all-stars against the Keystone State’s top seniors; the reason there’s twelve Division I wrestling programs in the commonwealth, and a plethora more in lower divisions; the reason the state ranks at or near the top annually of NCAA All-Americans produced; and the reason Cael, ostensibly, came east.
No matter how you slice it, the consensus is that PA is always among the top states in high school wrestling each year. So, it’s not surprising that they have an outstanding crop of seniors this year. What is surprising, even by Pennsylvania standards, is the breadth and depth of their accomplishments
