HERSHEY – It was something not normally seen against Jordan Rich.
Wrestling Lasalle’s Joey Mazzi in the preliminary round at 135 pounds, the Wildcat senior found himself on the opposite side of a dangerous headlock, his shoulders inches from the mat. Rich was leading 5-1 at the time before the sudden move had him in trouble.
But the fight in Rich never subsided. He worked out of the hold and pulled out an 8-6 win Thursday in the opening round of the PIAA Class AAA state wrestling championships.
Rich is one of six Wildcats still alive in the championship bracket today.
