UncleLar

I’m UncleLar, a 60-something former IBM employee who retired from the company a few years ago after 25 years of service. I was a computer technology geek/expert before it was fashionable to be one. My academic credentials include being one of the original undergraduate computer science majors at Penn State switching to that program after four years of mathematics study. I also majored in management information systems in Penn State’s MBA program.

As a retiree living in State College, I have ample opportunity to see Penn State athletes in action. You can find me in regular attendance at Beaver Stadium, the Bryce Jordan Center, Medlar Field, Rec Hall, Bigler Field, Astro Turf Field, Nittany Lion Field, Jeffrey Field, and so on.

I am a long, long time PSU wrestling fan. I can honestly say that I was one of the 6,000 or so souls who were present when Mike Reid was carried off following Penn State’s upset win over Lehigh in 1967.

I was also at the NCAA championships at Princeton in 1975 when John Fritz won his 126 lb title and was robbed of the OW Award when it was handed to Mike Frick of Lehigh. This was just the first of many NCAA championship events that I attended following the Lions.

More recently, I was also at the Bryce Jordan Center, when current coach Cael Sanderson capped his freshman year with the first of his four undefeated NCAA championship seasons.

For this site, I plan on providing the PSU wrestling fan with a one stop shopping site to find the latest info on the Nittany Lion grapplers.  I’ll be scouring the web for info on the team as we move into the Sanderson era.  Hopefully this will become one of your first stops to get the latest on the team.
