Collegian: Redshirt freshman wrestler to transfer after semester
By Ryan Loy
Collegian Staff Writer
Jarret Freeman confirmed Monday that he is transferring and will not be back with the Penn State wrestling team in the fall.
The redshirt freshman said he's leaving Penn State because of personal issues.
Freeman said he'll finish this semester at Penn State before transferring to either NYU or Hunter College — both located in New York City — where he intends to continue wrestling.

Penn State fares well at Edinboro Open
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Eleven members of the Penn State wrestling team headed north to take part in the 2010 Edinboro Open and eight of that group earned places at the event. Red-shirts David Taylor (St. Paris, Ohio), Jake Kemerer (Greensburg, Pa.) and Quentin Wright (Wingate, Pa.) all earned titles.
Each of Penn State’s entrants was unattached at the non-traditional tournament and, since bouts were not of regulation length (six minutes with three separate two-minute periods instead of seven minutes); none of the results count on the wrestlers records.

Collegian: Shot at title starts Sunday
by Brendan Monahan
Collegian Staff Writer
Jarret Freeman sat on the mini-bleachers at Lorenzo Wrestling Complex with his teammates before practice and gazed ahead.
While Freeman, listed as both a 133 and 141-pounder, sat leaning forward with his arms on knees, chatter arose among the other wrestlers.
Although the Penn State wrestlers know about the other talk buzzing around — the publicity that surrounds Cael Sanderson’s new team — every day the wrestlers attempt to keep their focus on the mat instead of the growing interest in the team.
